A soil with a high concentration of limestone, together with a large amount of photosynthesis brought on by the many hours of sun produce grapes of extraordinary quality.
The winds of the Atlantic sea coming from the South and West, bring the necessary humidity at night, which is absorved by the leaves.
Finca El Higueral, where the Guardi Wine grapes are produced, slants north to south, shielded by a natural rock formation on its north, Sierra Valleja, and preserved by a huge mass of water in the reservoir on the south “Pantano del Guadalcacín” producing a micro-climate completely free of oscillations of traffic, noise or light pollution.

GUARDI WINES is the project of Javier Guardiola, who descends from families that have had a long exposure to wines for several generations, owning several estates, wine press and wineries since earlier than 1,750. From his father’s side in Villamartín, Cadiz, and from his mothe’rs side -the Barón de Gracia Real – since 1.910 in Seville .
The wine-growing tradition of the Guardiola family goes back three centuries to the 18th century, in Villamartín. At the time the wine produced in Villamartín became very famous – it was called Pajarete for the name of the plot in which where the vines that produced it were planted, the same plot where the castle of Matrera rises.
Among the ancestors who excelled in the elaboration and aging of the ancient and prestigious Pajarete wine are D. Bernardo de los Ríos and Puerto, owner of the estate and mill “La Berduga”, located at the very center of the vineyard and D. José Jiménez- Pajarero and Ferreras-Villamisar. In 1835, on the death of Bernardo de los Ríos, D. José Jiménez- Pajarero bought La Berduga from his heirs and added it to his estate, which included the vineyards and mills of Las Montañas and La Mediana – also located in Pajarete – and the Hacienda and Vineyard called “El Saucejo” who, on his death in 1853, inherited his daughter Dª Consolación Jiménez-Pajarero, married to D. Juan de los Ríos and Mateos, both great-grandparents, on his father’s side, of the current owner of the Finca El Higueral estate, in Arcos de la Frontera, Don Javier Guardiola Domínguez.
Javier Guardiola, a family of farmers and ranchers, winemaker at various stages of his life, chemical engineer by the Chemical Institute of Sarria in Barcelona, MBA 75 by IESE Business School, decided to plant this vineyard, turning the Finca El Higueral into an Ecological and Biodynamic fram – before planting the vines – with the aim of producing a “Health Wine” and for this were chosen two varieties of red wine, Merlot and Pinot Noir for their health producing qualities.
In the stage in which we live today, due to the diseases we suffer in the present world, mainly cancer, our main objective is to try to produce a wine, with low alcohol and a lot of anticancer Resveratrol and Antioxidants.
In this direction, humbly, with much effort, hope, and more for love than for anything else, we try to contribute.
The Finca El Higueral estate, is located in Arcos de la Frontera in the middle of the province of Cadiz, the southernmost province in Spain. Jerez de la Frontera is 30 km to the west and Seville Airport 100 km to the North.
It is at the tip of the Natural Park of the Alcornocales, set between the natural bounds formed by the Sierra Valleja on its North, with its pre-neolithic cave, a priviliged setting that has been selected by the Phoenicians, the Romans and Arabs and Christians and the Majaceite river on its south, now turned into the Guadalcacín Reservoir.
If we write here that this is a special place with a very small microclimate, where the telluric and cosmic forces have been balanced, you may think that we have gone mad in marketing gibberigh – but you only have to come and feel for yourself.
The great quality of the limestone soil, the large amount of rainfall – 800 mm yearly – and the more than 3,000 hours of sun a year combine to produces excellent fruits.
In a farm with magic, in a Paradise of well-being, beautiful sacred place, factory of dreams, where the magic of the sky and the earth condense in the form of grapes and offers us its healing gift.
The breezes of the sea, caress the vines
night and day with its humidity
The moon, looks, sends peace to the mind
silent peace, so that it grows as it passes
The dawn of light brings energy
with splendor, as if God appeared
From dawn the birds accompany it
with the sound of their songs and make it grow
Flowers, flowers, smell and colour,
necessary food to provide it life.
This sacred estate has welcomed with Love the essence of PanEuritmia and the members of the dance marveling at such beauty and power … ..with sounds, chants, bowls … the luminous entities of this sacred site happy and plants, animals and stones …. in our hearts.

The good effects of red wine on health have been widely studied.
The biennial Wine & Health World Congress highlights the following good effects of red wine on health:
1- Moderate wine consumption reduces the risk of global mortality (deaths from any cause) in men and women of all ages. Moderate wine consumers have a 25% lower risk of dying than abstainers and also excessive drinkers.
2- Moderate wine consumption reduces the risk of having a myocardial infarction or stroke in both men and women compared to abstainers. These effects are attributed to a protective action on hypertension, diabetes, obesity, lipid profile and coagulation system.
3- The consumption of white and red wines improves glucose metabolism and increases beneficial cholesterol (HDL) in diabetic patients.
4- The polyphenols of the wine exert prebiotic properties, favoring the healthy intestinal microbiota.
5- The consumption of wine and specifically the resveratrol it contains is associated with greater longevity. This effect is similar to that observed after the follow-up of a hypocaloric diet, but without the grief that this entails.
Moderate wine consumption reduces the risk of cognitive impairment and dementia. There is increasing evidence of the effect of wine and its bioactive components on the preservation of mental function in older people. The intake of 100 ml of wine per day is sufficient to delay or prevent the development of cognitive impairment in the elderly (> 65 years).
6- Moderate wine consumption is associated with a lower incidence of certain cancers. The results of the French CANCERCOOL study that followed 35,292 men over 25 years suggest that 75% of cancers of the lung, lip, oral cavity, pharynx and larynx could be reduced by moderate consumption of wine, similar to how it is reduced by the fruits and vegetables. In contrast, the consumption of other alcoholic beverages is accompanied by an increased risk of this type of cancer. The relationship between alcohol and cancer is one of the most debated and recent results suggest that wine could have a different effect than other alcoholic beverages.
7- Wine alcohol, polyphenols and other wine components have different (and complementary) protective effects on cells, tissues and organs. It is important to highlight the vasodilatory effect of nitric oxide synthesized by the vascular endothelium – which reduces blood pressure in hypertensive subjects, the increase in HDL-cholesterol and apolipoproteins A1 and A2 -which are associated with cardioprotection, and the reduction of insulin resistance and thus reducing the risk of developing diabetes.
8- Wine must be included in a healthy diet, such as the Mediterranean diet. Recent studies indicate that wine would be responsible for 25% of the protective effects of the Mediterranean diet on health.
